The beginning of the 15th century saw the start of the campaign by Owain Glyndwr to wrest back Wales from English control. With discontent rife amongst the peasantry, many of them flocked to support Glyndwr. The area was constantly the scene of unrest as evidenced by this mediaeval dagger scabbard found near Valle Crucis Abbey.
