1917 – Harry Augustus Thomas was a Goat Major with the Welsh Fusiliers during the First World War. He was a stonemason by trade and lived at 4 Green Lane. He died in April 1938. The stonemason business is still in the family, run by his grandson, and the family still lives in Green Lane.
