Thomas Charles Bond was born in Pentredwr, Llantyslio in December quarter 1897, son of William Henry Bond, a miner in a limestone quarry, and Catherine Jane Bond, nee Hughes. He joined the Royal Welsh Fusiliers as Private 88396. He died 4th November 1918 and was buried in grave C. 33, at the Englefontaine British Cemetery on the western edge the Foret de Mormal in Franceborn.
