John Goronwy Jones was born the second son of David and Grace Jones, Fronlwyd, Glyndyfrdwy, formerly of Rhospengwern, Llangollen. He was wounded in action on Nov. 6, and died the same day. He was well known in the Llangollen district and had won the Military Medal in August 1918. He had been educated at the Llangollen County School, and later at the Agricultural Dept. of the University College, Bangor.
