Trooper John Pritchard Evans was the youngest son of Mr and Mrs Robert R Evans, Glandyffryn, Vron Bache. He had spent his school days at the Council School. After leaving school he was an apprentice with Messrs Rice Jones & Son, and his genial and happy disposition endeared him to all who came into contact with him. He joined the Forces at the outbreak of the war, at the age of 19.
