Alexander Jones was born in Llangollen March quarter 1921, son of Thomas Jones and Jane Jones (nee Gillespie). In 1944 they were at the Star Inn, Queens Street. He was a Lance Corporal with the Royal Welch Fusiliers. He died of wounds on 18th July 1944, when the Commonwealth forces were trying to encircle Caen.
