Edward Samuel Jones was born in 1909, son of Richard and Annie Jones of Celyn Cottage, Vroncysyllte. He married Eleanor Maud Jones, of Llanllechid, Caernarvonshire. Serving with the Royal Artillery, 97 (The Kent Yeomanry) Field Regt, he died on 14th November 1942 aged 33.
