Benjamin Morris was born in Garth in March quarter 1895, son of John Hugh Morris, a labourer in a carbolic acid chemical works, and Maria Ellen Morris (nee Davies). The family had moved to Trevor View, Vroncysyllte by 1911, and Benjamin was now working as a coal miner. He joined the 33rd Battalion of the Machine Gun Corps as private 70914. He died 19th April 1918 aged 23, and was buries in grave I F 4, Haringhe (Bandaghem) Military Cemetery, Poperinge, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
